How to Fest
General Info
Good question! If you’ve ever been to a regular film festival, it’s just like that! The only difference is that the films are all family friendly. There are films and activities for kids and grown-ups of all ages, and we include age recommendations for each film.
If you’ve never been to any film festival, we’re excited to introduce you to the experience. Hopefully the rest of this page will answer any specific questions you have, but here’s the gist: There will be a variety of films and activities over this year’s two day festival. You can purchase a pass to see it all, or buy individual tickets to just the movies you want to see.
Yes! Our film festival is for all ages. We like to say if you’ve ever been a kid, we have films you will love.
This year in particular, we have programmed several films we think adults will love, so if you are missing our dear friends, Indie Memphis, let us fill that film festival gap in your heart.
Like You Children’s Film Festival is an annual event, hosted by non-profit Like You Film Club.
Like You Film Club supports the emotional growth and mental wellness of kids through the power of film.
We host year round family film screenings to create community and conversation. Learn more about our year-round organization.
The festival will take place place November 22-23, 2025 at the MoSH Pink Palace Museum and Mansion, 3050 Central Ave, Memphis, TN 38111.
Admission to the Pink Palace Museum is separate from the film festival. Like You Children’s Film Festival is an independent event partnering with MoSH as a venue.
We encourage you to visit the museum exhibits while you’re here, but you must purchase admission for the exhibits separately from your festival ticket/pass. Learn more about the museum and purchase museum tickets through their website, or by visiting the museum box office.
You do not need to purchase museum admission to attend the festival, only if you wish to visit the exhibits.
You can find detailed information on our schedule. This year’s program features 9 feature films, over 80 shorts films, 3 special presentations, 6 workshops, and lots of other fun activities and experiences.
Yes! An annual Membership to Like You Film Club gets you a 10% discount on festival passes. A Secret Society Membership comes with a festival pass included. Learn more about memberships here.
If you’d like to access the festival as a mobile app, we recommend you save the festival welcome page or the schedule to your phone’s home screen or bookmarks — it works just like one!
No! we’re saving trees and keeping our schedule digital. We recommend you save the festival welcome page or the schedule to your phone’s home screen or bookmarks for convenient easy access to festival information throughout the weekend.
You can use the museum’s guest network. It is free/open, but you must register your device when you join the network.
Heads up, cellular reception can be spotty in and around the Giant Screen Theater. We recommend joining the guest wi-fi for calls or texting (just not during the movie, please!)
Screening & Ticket Info
The box office will be open from 9:30am to 8pm during the festival, November 22-23. There you can pick up your festival pass or buy individual tickets.
Enter the museum’s front entrance and head to the left of the museum ticket counter. You should see us! The box office will be at a table in the lobby near the base of the escalator.
Tickets may also be purchased at the concession stand outside the Giant Screen Theater.
We know this can be confusing if you’re new to film festivals! Let us break it down.
PASSES
A pass gets you access to every film, workshop, activity, and event throughout the festival. If there’s lots you want to do and see, this is definitely the best deal. You could upgrade to a VIP pass if you want early access seating, discounts on merch and concessions, plus other perks.
When you buy a pass, you’ll create an account that lets you reserve and keep track of all your tickets to individual screenings.
You could also visit the passes page to buy a bundle of 10 tickets. It’s not technically a pass, but it gets you a discount on tickets. This could be an option for a family of 5 who wants to see 2 movies together. Or a big group of friends coming to a show together.
TICKETS
An individual ticket can be purchased for any individual screening. You only go to the specific film you bought a ticket for. Our tickets are digital. When you buy a ticket you’ll be emailed a QR code that can be printed or pulled up on your phone to scan for entrance at the theater.
WHICH SHOULD YOU GET?
If you’re only planning to see 1 film, buy a ticket. If you think you’ll see at least 2 or 3 films, you should really consider a pass.
MEMBERSHIP
To add another layer to all this, you may have also seen or heard talk about Membership. This refers to an Annual Membership for our year round family film series. You don’t need a membership to see movies during the festival (but it does get you a discount on passes and tickets). If you enjoy the festival, check out our year-round offerings. You can also buy individual tickets to year-round screenings, but once again, you get a better deal by buying a membership if you plan to see lots of films.
Yes. Individual tickets will be available to purchase online starting October 26 (Pass holders may reserve tickets to screenings starting October 18, before individual tickets go on sale). Individual tickets will also be available to purchase in person at the box office or concession stand during the festival (but you get a better per-ticket deal if you purchase a pass).
No. You can purchase tickets to films in person at our box office during the festival. But we recommend purchasing tickets in advance so the film you want to see doesn’t sell out!
Accounts make it easy to add and access tickets anytime from your phone. If you have a pass or membership, your account will also keep track of all your free tickets and perks.
Fun fact: our ticketing/passes/schedule/film guide is all made possible by our sponsor Eventive, a Memphis-based company that serves many of the biggest film festivals across the globe!
That’s not a question, but if you don’t want to create an account, you can always buy a ticket in person at the festival box office if tickets have not sold out.
If you want to see a film that is sold out, arrive at the venue early and join the Last Minute Line. Seats that are empty at showtime will be sold to the Last Minute Line. VIP passes receive first priority.
We are a cash free festival. We do not have cash on hand to make change. That being said, we can accept cash if you have exact change or don’t mind “donating” the change to the operations of our non-profit, Like You Film Club.
Passes can be picked up at the Box Office during the festival between the hours of 9:30am-8pm.
As a backup, you can also pull up your pass on your smartphone by signing into your account.
Wear it! A pass provides you access to all events and workshops. It can be scanned as your “ticket” for each screening. Plus it looks cool and gives you that special feeling that comes with being a supporter of the festival!
Just buy a ticket! We recommend showing up early, with enough time to purchase concessions, find a seat, and get settled in before the show starts.
Priority seating starts early for VIP passholders.
Passholders, we recommend that you reserve a ticket in advance for each film you plan to see, to be sure it’s not sold out.
Passholders should also reserve a ticket for any film they want in advance. Log on to your Like You Children’s Film Festival passholder account and select the films you want to see. It will show $0 to select 1 film ticket per pass in your account.
You could technically just show up at the screening and scan your pass, but if a film is sold out at that point, your pass won’t get you in. That why we recommend reserving in advance.
Priority seating starts early for VIP passholders.
We’re glad you want to bring a friend along! When you reserve your ticket, you’ll be given the option to purchase additional tickets with the “Order Tickets” button. Tickets purchased by a VIP pass holder get a 15% discount – you rock for passing those savings along to your friend!
Come as early as you like to hang out! There will be activities while you wait. VIP passholders are seated 20 minutes before showtime; festival passholders and single ticket holders are seated 10 minutes before showtime. Anyone waiting in the Last Minute Line for a sold out screening can purchase a ticket if there are seats remaining once other guests are seated.
All hope is not lost! If you want to see a film that’s sold out, come to the venue. Seats that are empty at showtime will be sold to people in the Last Minute Line. Passholders in the Last Minute Line will not be charged. Non-passholders in the Last Minute Line will be charged $15 per ticket, regardless of age.
Yes, up to 1 hour before the showtime. Log in to your account, select the tickets icon in the top right corner, and select the settings wheel to the right of your ticket for the “cancel” option. Then select your new ticket from the schedule or film guide.
